Three Mile Walk

There is limited parking within the village so park to the rear of The Bell.

Descend the hill towards St Kenelms church (14th C), take footpath to left of church and through kissing gate to the meadow.

Follow unmarked path straight across bank keeping garden of Upper Dorvel House to your right, these are extensive and display some of the topiary for which Sapperton is famous.

The path leads down to a green metal gate after 200m, through gate to small no through road, descend steep hill to Lower Dorvel House. Turn left at the entrance to the house going further down a narrow track, at the bottom the track passes over a small stream, the River Frome.

Going gets very muddy here in winter, but follow path uphill for 200 yds to Y in the paths, bear left and climb steep hill for 250m ignoring what appears to be first X path till you reach another vehicle track under a large beach tree. Turn hard left and follow track down slight slope and continue through the woods for half mile. Stay on the track and as you leave wood Daneway House will be on your left.
